New Covid-19 Restrictions in Turkey

4 December 2020 Update:

We see there are a lot of foreigners who still have questions about weekend lockdowns.

That’s why we gave a call to the Ministry of the Interior this morning. Here is their response: “Foreigners who have a tourist visa on their passports will be FREE from the weekend lockdowns.”

In other words, tourists will not be affected by weekend lockdowns as long as they can show their tourist visas. On the other hand, those who have residence/work permit will be considered as Turkish Citizens must follow the restrictions.

Covid-19 State Announcements:
– Weekday lockdowns between 9 p.m and 5 a.m.
– Full lockdowns on weekends (Except Tourists with Visa)

A series of new measure to curb the spread of COVID – 19 was announced by the president of Turkish republic, Recep Tayyip Erdogan on November 17.

According to the new restrictions A partial curfew will be effective in the country at the weekends, except for 10 a.m to 8 p.m, so as not to disrupt supply and production chains. The new restrictions are going to be effective from 20:00 on November 20.

There are also several restrictions that will affect the social life in the country.
